Telecom Giant, Airtel Nigeria has announced a partnership with Spotify to provide music fans in Nigeria with daily free data to listen to songs on the Spotify platform.

Under the terms of the agreement, Airtel +54 million customers who purchase weekly and monthly data bundles will receive bonus data to enjoy Spotify’s over 70 million songs, including local favorites and Premium content, without incurring additional data costs.

Spotify launched in the country early last year, with 381 million monthly active users and 172 million premium subscribers globally. The Nigerian audience will enjoy the content that millions of eager consumers enjoy.

According to Airtel, the partnership with Spotify will enable Nigerians to connect with their favorite artists and the music that inspires and motivates them whether they are stuck in traffic, working out, partying, spending time with loved ones, or simply relaxing.

When Airtel customers purchase data bundles, they will receive complimentary data that can only be used on the Spotify platform.

Airtel Nigeria’s Chief Commercial Officer, Godfrey Efeurhobo, commented on the partnership, saying that the company’s partnership with Spotify is yet another demonstration of its commitment to creating opportunities that will entertain, excite, delight, and reward customers on its network.

Airtel is positioned as the network of first choice for music, youth culture, and innovation, and we are thrilled to collaborate with Spotify to bring pure happiness to our valued customers across the country. We believe that this collaboration will not only empower and reward our customers, but will also allow them to thoroughly enjoy themselves as they connect with the artists and songs they love,” said Efeurhobo.
