Independent and inclusive industry platform, the Pitch Fanzine has named Ogilvy Africa, Nigeria’s Creative Director, Jolomi Awala and 90 other creatives in its annual Super People List for 2022.

Now in its seventh year, the Pitch Fanzine is a platform challenging inequality, discrimination and the lack of diversity in the creative industries, while simultaneously showcasing outstanding creative talent from across the world and include leaders from global brands, media, activism, creative agencies, production, photography, TV, film and the post-world.

The Super People List initiative was launched to celebrate super men and women working behind the scenes in the creative industry. They have the exceptional ability to handle multiple tasks without sweating it.

They are brave, take risks and above all get the job done. These Super People are nominated by their industry peers who are Super Alumni, nine of them alongside Sherry Collins, Founder, the Pitch Fanzine.

Asides Jolomi Awala, other Nigerian-based creatives who made the cut include Adebola Adegbulugbe, Deputy Creative Director, Insight Publicis Nigeria; and Adebayo Owosina, Partner / Founding Creative Director, The Hook Creative Agency.

“Super People gets things done. Go above and beyond, and they are kind and caring to others,” said, Sherry Collins, Founder, the Pitch Fanzine.

Speaking on his nomination, Jolomi Awala noted that this is a win for all Nigerian creatives. “I have always been an advocate for creating impactful materials that move the needle in the creative landscape. Nigeria has got what it takes to push the creative envelope and together we can do more and give back to those coming so as to create a cycle of amazing talents,” Awala said.

It will be recalled that in the last six months, Nigerian creatives have been selected to serve on prestigious awards programmes that include the New York Festivals Advertising Awards’ (NYFA) 2022 grand jury, the 2022 Loeries jury and Awala’s work in leading local program coordination for the 10-week Lagos Creative Development Bootcamp which is co-sponsored by TBWA\Chiat Day New York and Wieden+Kennedy and leverages the platform and curriculum of The One Club’s own long-running Creative Boot Camps.
