President Muhammadu Buhari will unveil the redesigned Naira notes on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, Brand Spur Nigeria reports.
The announcement was made by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele on Tuesday in Abuja during the Monetary Policy Committee monthly meeting.
This digital platform recall that the CBN Governor in October announced that the apex bank would issue redesigned N200, N500, and N1,000 notes, effective December 15, 2022,
Emefiele, however, on Tuesday noted that the apex bank will not wait till December anymore for the unveiling of the new notes.
According to Emefiele, the deadline for returning the old Naira notes to commercial banks in exchange for newly designed ones would not be shifted.
As part of efforts to ensure Nigerians return the old naira notes, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed all commercial banks in the country to work on Saturdays till January 31, 2023.
