Popular social media platform Twitter owned by tech Billionaire Elon Musk has added a new feature to its platform which allows users to choose almost any emoji to react to direct messages during conversations.

Twitter DMs which could only be responded to with a selected range of emoji previously are stepping up with the new feature.

This new feature was announced by Twitter CEO, Elon Musk in a tweet, this new feature will now place Twitter on a similar level as other messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Telegram which have enabled this feature on their platform.

Elon Musk also announced via his tweet on Wednesday Twitter would also be releasing the first version of encrypted DMs. However, he didn’t disclose that this feature would have an indicator showing when chats are protected by end-to-end encryption.

Twitter, which has witnessed many changes since the billionaire took over, is still yet to reach Elon Musk’s satisfaction, as new features are being announced but are not included immediately. For example, the introduction of “Twitter Blue” and the removal of “Legacy Verification”

Elon Musk also shared his plans for Twitter users to be able to make voice and video calls. This feature which has been functioning on several social platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp.
