The fourth World Public Relations Day (WPRD), with the theme “The future of public relations in a changing world,” has public relations professionals all across the world prepared. The yearly event, which is set for July 16, 2024, honours public relations professionals, scholars, and thought leaders in the field.

Ayeni Adekunle, the founder and convener of World PR Day, underlined the significance of practitioners using this chance to address relevant PR issues and offer answers to these problems besetting the PR and communications sector.

Adekunle said: ‘’Amidst the anticipation surrounding the fourth edition of World Public Relations Day, it is imperative for our global community to seize this moment as a catalyst for addressing critical PR challenges and fostering innovative solutions. Together, let us propel the PR and communications industry towards greater resilience and impact.’’

Continuing, he also revealed that the WPRD is a component of an integrated worldwide agenda aimed at information exchange and aiding governments, corporations, and brands in realising the critical role the sector plays in forming enterprises. It advances the platform’s goal of forming and constructing strategic communications.

With over 40 events (20 real and 25 virtual) and 36 million individuals reached in 63 countries across 6 continents in just three years, WPRD has experienced notable growth.

According to Ayeni Adekunle, this is only conceivable because of the tremendous expansion that has occurred throughout time in many different countries on different continents, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, India, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Furthering, he said: “This remarkable growth underscores the collective commitment of the global PR community to advancing our industry’s impact and influence on a worldwide scale. As we continue to expand our reach across continents and engage diverse stakeholders, World Public Relations Day remains steadfast in its mission to cultivate strategic communications excellence and foster a deeper understanding of the indispensable role PR plays in driving business success.”

Activities by organisations, associations, and professions worldwide will be included in the 2024 celebration. WPRD reported a wide range of involvement in 2021 over five continents, six continents in 2022, and 36 million people reached in 63 countries across six continents.
