Subscribers to YouTube Premium have been informed of price changes that will impact individual and family plans in Europe, the Middle East, and South America as of November 7.
According to reports, family plans in some EU countries will now cost €25.99 per month instead of €17.99, and individual subscriptions will cost €11.99 instead of €13.99. Comparable price adjustments have surfaced in markets like Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Colombia. Users have documented these price adjustments on social media platforms, especially Reddit.
This pricing change comes after US subscribers’ individual Premium fees increased from $11.99 to $13.99 in the previous year. There was also an increase in the family plan from $17.99 to $22.99. These price hikes are currently occurring across a number of businesses, impacting streaming services such as Disney Plus and Paramount Plus, both of which have recently increased their rates.
Interestingly, users have noticed that a new option called “Premium Lite” has emerged in some discussions. This suggests that a lower-tier subscription service may be reintroduced, though specifics are still lacking. YouTube had tested this strategy before announcing its demise a year ago.
Google has notified users that these price adjustments are required to guarantee continuous service enhancements and assistance for content creators. The wording is similar to that of previous notifications of price increases, suggesting a standardized method of informing subscribers of these changes.
