NIPR Names Chief Yomi As Chairman, Assigns Positions To Other Prominent Practitioners

Chief Yomi Badejo-Okunsanya, the immediate past president of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG) by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) as part of its commitment to finding a long-term solution to reputational issues that affect the nation’s growth and development.

Hajiya Lami Tumaka has been appointed as the first vice chairman, and Dr. Alice Ajeh is the second vice chairman. The NRMG was successfully unveiled in Abuja in October 2024, and this appointment comes after that. The goal of NIPR’s project is to resolve reputational problems that are impeding the nation’s progress and development sustainably.

Continuing, Nigeria needs its reputation as an asset to trade in the global market, according to NIPR President Dr. Ike Neliaku, who spoke at the Committee’s virtual inauguration. He stated that the Institute places a high importance on the country’s reputation. In its 117th meeting, the NIPR Governing Council approved Chief Badejo-Okunsanya to head a 17-person panel of specialists.

Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha, H. E. Amb. Tope Elias-Fatile and Dr Nkechi Ali-Balogun are some of these specialists. Members Alhaji Sadiq Kassim, Mr Franklyn Ginger-Eke, Chief Tokunbo Modupe, Chief Moji Makanjuola, and Mr Stanley Ogadigo are also included.

BrandSpur national News brand reports that the Board also includes representatives from the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Lawal Oluwatosin Kafayat, a member of the NIPR Young Professionals Hub, Mr. Nanfa Nandap, a member of the NIPR Young Professionals Hub, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whose nominee is still pending. The CEO of the NRMG, if appointed, will serve as the Board’s secretary. The Board has been tasked with several duties, including tight collaboration with the Nigeria Reputation House’s building partners and the NIPR Council.
