Air Peace Landing Plane From Lagos Swerves Off The Runway In Port Harcourt

Once more, but for the wrong reason, Air Peace is in the news. It concerns how, upon landing at Port Harcourt International Airport, an Air Peace aircraft veered off the runway.

Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the spokesperson for Air Peace, signed a statement confirming the incident. According to reports available to BrandSpur Nigeria news desk, the incident happened early today. The airline reported that following a safe landing, flight P47190, which flew from Lagos to Port Harcourt, experienced a runway excursion.

According to the released statement: “Air Peace confirms that its Flight P47190, operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt this morning, had a runway excursion after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport. The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage.”

Continuing, there were no reported injuries, and all passengers disembarked peacefully and safely, according to Air Peace. The public was reassured by the airline of its unwavering dedication to upholding the highest safety standards in its operations.

The aviation company’s plane skidded off the runway at the same airport when it landed in 2019. Recall that on Saturday, May 10, 2025, while taxiing at the Asaba Airport, an Air Peace plane struck and killed an antelope, leaving the passengers on board enraged and frustrated, and as a result, the plane was grounded.

Even though the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) officials confirmed the incident and described it as a rare wildlife encounter, the unexpected development caused abrupt but significant flight delays and passenger frustration. However, the NCAA stated that the airline is still in charge of helping impacted passengers.
