Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has disclosed President Buhari’s passing away on X, formerly Twitter.
According to him: “The family of the former president has announced the passing of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus. Amin.”

The family is anticipated to provide more information about the burial plans in compliance with Islamic customs.
Buhari, the 23rd child of his father, was born into a Fulani family in Daura, Katsina State, on December 17, 1942. He ruled Nigeria as a military leader and as a civilian.
