Kantar has strengthened its leadership across Africa with the appointment of Daniel Oseman as Managing Director for West, East, and Central Africa, a move aimed at consolidating operations and driving growth in one of the global insights firm’s most strategically important regions.
Felicia Nwosu reports that in a personal announcement, Oseman expressed excitement about the expanded responsibilities and pledged to work closely with Kantar teams across the region. “I appreciate the messages of support and look forward to working closely with the WECA leadership and broader Kantar team as we continue to drive growth across the region,” he stated.
Brandspur Business News Desk notes that in his new role, Oseman will oversee multi-market operations across West, East, and Central Africa, steering commercial growth, operational leadership, and profit and loss management while ensuring that clients continue to receive actionable, data-driven insights to build competitive brands across Africa’s fast-evolving markets.
Oseman’s career trajectory within Kantar spans over a decade, starting in the United Kingdom with TNS BMRB, where he advanced from Research Executive to Research Manager between 2009 and 2013, focusing on education, youth affairs, and crime-related studies. He relocated to Kenya in 2013 to join Kantar TNS East Africa as Associate Director, overseeing telecommunications research across East and Central Africa, before progressing to Account Director and later Client Service Director.
In April 2020, Oseman became Managing Director for Kantar East Africa, guiding the regional operations through digital acceleration and market transformation. He later took on the role of Chief Growth Officer for West, East, and Central Africa, combining operational leadership with commercial strategy. His promotion to Managing Director for the broader West, East, and Central Africa region reflects Kantar’s commitment to reinforcing leadership capacity and driving growth across the continent.
Oseman holds a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from Warwick Business School and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Birmingham. His appointment underscores Kantar’s focus on evidence-based decision making, regional business management, and the development of high-performing teams to serve Africa’s dynamic marketing, brand, and consulting ecosystem.
This leadership expansion positions Kantar to deepen its influence across Africa while supporting brands, governments, and institutions in understanding and responding to evolving consumer behaviours across the continent.
