Zenith Bank Plc has launched its Visa Signature Card in partnership with Visa, expanding its premium banking offerings to cater to high-value customers seeking enhanced access to international payments, travel privileges and lifestyle services.
The new card is designed to support seamless transactions both locally and globally, while providing users with a suite of benefits tailored to affluent and internationally mobile customers. These include access to airport lounge programmes, travel insurance, concierge services, and exclusive offers across global travel and hospitality platforms.
Brandspur Banking News Desk reports that the product is targeted at customers whose financial activities span multiple jurisdictions, reflecting growing demand for payment solutions that support cross-border commerce, mobility and digital transactions among Nigeria’s upper-income segment.
The Visa Signature Card also provides cardholders with privileges across more than 900 luxury properties worldwide, discounted car rentals of up to 25 per cent, complimentary service upgrades, extended warranty coverage, and fraud protection for online purchases, enhancing both convenience and transaction security.
Zenith Bank said the launch aligns with its strategy to strengthen its premium banking segment amid increasing competition within Nigeria’s financial services industry, where institutions are evolving beyond traditional banking to offer integrated lifestyle and financial solutions.
Speaking at the unveiling in Lagos, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Plc, Dame Dr Adaora Umeoji, stated that the collaboration with Visa reflects the bank’s commitment to delivering globally relevant financial products that meet the evolving needs of its customers.
She noted that the Visa Signature Card is intended to provide greater flexibility, convenience and value for customers, particularly those who require reliable access to international payment systems for business, travel and personal use.
Visa, which provides the global payments infrastructure behind the card, enables acceptance across millions of merchants worldwide, ensuring that cardholders can transact securely across different markets with consistent service delivery.
Andrew Uaboi, Vice President and Cluster Head for Visa West Africa, said the partnership responds to rising demand for payment solutions that support increasingly global lifestyles, as more consumers engage in cross-border activities for business and leisure.
He added that digital adoption is driving a shift towards financial products that combine convenience with international acceptance, highlighting the importance of secure and scalable payment networks in supporting global commerce.
The introduction of the Visa Signature Card underscores a broader trend in Nigeria’s banking sector, where financial institutions are investing in premium offerings to meet the expectations of customers with international exposure and higher purchasing power.
With features that integrate payments, travel benefits and lifestyle privileges, the new card positions Zenith Bank to deepen its presence in the premium banking space while leveraging Visa’s global network to enhance customer experience and expand access to international financial services.
