FCCPC Reveals Top 10 Recommended Loan Apps For Nigerians

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has broadened its market surveillance to include electrical and electronic products, cables, and building materials, targeting substandard and unsafe goods that pose risks to Nigerian consumers.

Bola Adeyinka, Director of Surveillance and Investigations, representing Executive Vice-Chairman Tunji Bello, stated that the commission is actively identifying products that fail basic safety and quality standards, particularly those linked to building collapses and other safety hazards.

Brandspur Industry News reports that FCCPC is collaborating with sector regulators to close gaps allowing unsafe products into the market. Manufacturers and importers are legally obliged to withdraw or recall unsafe items and notify consumers promptly, with non-compliance attracting strict regulatory action.

Adeyinka highlighted that businesses must integrate compliance throughout production and distribution, while consumers are urged to check labeling, quality, and safety information before purchase. The commission also encouraged public reporting via its hotline or WhatsApp to facilitate rapid removal of unsafe products from markets.

The initiative, supported by intensified testing and partnerships with Standards Organisation of Nigeria and NAFDAC, aims to enhance consumer protection, promote responsible business conduct, and maintain market trust in Nigeria.
