AXA Mansard, Lagos DSVA Launch 2026 Safeguard Booklet To Strengthen Fight Against Domestic And Sexual Violence

AXA Mansard Insurance Plc has partnered with the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) to launch a Safeguard Booklet aimed at improving awareness and prevention of domestic and sexual violence among children and teenagers in Nigeria. The initiative, unveiled during the 2026 AXA Week for Good in Lagos, is designed to provide practical guidance for children, parents, teachers and communities on recognising abuse, preventing harm and accessing available support services.

The project forms part of AXA Mansard’s global employee volunteering programme, AXA Hearts in Action, which supports community-focused initiatives across its markets. The company said the booklet reflects its broader commitment to promoting child safety and supporting efforts to build safer communities beyond its core insurance business.

According to Brandspur Brand News, the campaign is centred on the message that every child deserves to grow up in a safe environment free from violence, neglect and exploitation. The company believes that increasing public awareness and encouraging early intervention are critical to reducing cases of abuse and strengthening child protection systems across Nigeria.

AXA Mansard Health Chief Executive Officer, Tope Adeniyi, said the initiative demonstrates the company’s commitment to protecting vulnerable groups through education and community engagement. He noted that while insurance remains central to the company’s operations, safeguarding children and supporting social development are equally important aspects of its corporate responsibility.

The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, welcomed the collaboration, describing the booklet as an important educational resource that will help improve public understanding of domestic and sexual violence. She emphasised that equipping children, parents and educators with accurate information can enhance prevention efforts and encourage timely reporting of abuse.

AXA Mansard’s Chief Marketing Officer, Adebola Surakat, said copies of the Safeguard Booklet will be distributed through schools, partner organisations and community platforms to reach a wider audience. She added that the initiative is intended to strengthen awareness, encourage reporting and promote collective responsibility in protecting children from abuse.

Students, educators, child protection advocates and representatives of the Lagos DSVA who attended the launch reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that create safer environments for children and young people. The partnership underscores the growing role of collaboration between the private sector and government agencies in advancing child protection and combating domestic and sexual violence across Nigeria.
