Mobility and urban services platform inDrive has appointed Nigerian media personality and content creator KieKie as its new “Chief Wahala Officer” in a campaign aimed at highlighting the daily transportation challenges faced by commuters across Lagos.
The appointment follows a nationwide campaign that attracted more than 450 applications from Nigerians interested in taking on the symbolic role. Through the initiative, inDrive is seeking to encourage wider public conversations about traffic congestion, unreliable transportation, delivery delays and other mobility issues affecting residents of Nigeria’s commercial capital.
According to Brandspur Brand News, the campaign forms part of the company’s broader effort to engage commuters through relatable storytelling while drawing attention to the realities of urban transportation in Lagos.
In her new role, KieKie will spearhead the #inDriveCWO campaign by interacting with Lagos residents, collecting their commuting experiences and using her social media influence to amplify conversations around everyday transport frustrations and possible improvements.
The company said KieKie’s personality and ability to connect with audiences through humour and relatable content made her a suitable choice for the campaign, which combines entertainment with public engagement on mobility challenges.
Reacting to the appointment, KieKie expressed enthusiasm about taking up the role, describing it as an opportunity to creatively engage Lagosians while raising awareness of the transportation difficulties many people encounter daily.
The campaign reflects a growing trend among technology and mobility companies to use digital creators and influencers to connect with consumers, promote user engagement and generate conversations around issues affecting urban mobility. By leveraging KieKie’s wide online reach, inDrive aims to increase public participation while reinforcing its presence in Nigeria’s highly competitive ride-hailing and transport services market.
