First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has introduced a new travel financing solution that enables eligible customers to access loans of up to N10 million to pay for international flight tickets, allowing repayments to be spread over a period of three to nine months.
The initiative, developed in partnership with travel company 247 Travels, is aimed at reducing the financial pressure associated with overseas travel for purposes such as business, education, medical treatment, tourism and family-related commitments. The facility is available only for international airline tickets booked through 247 Travels.
The new offering forms part of FCMB’s broader effort to expand consumer lending through lifestyle-focused financial products, Brandspur Banking News Desk reports. Both salaried employees and self-employed FCMB customers who satisfy the bank’s eligibility requirements can apply for the facility, with approved applications expected to be processed and funded within 24 working hours.
Customers seeking to use the service can begin their application through the dedicated Book Now, Fly Later platform or via the 247 Travels booking portal. Once financing is approved, the loan amount is released for ticket purchase and the travel booking is completed through the travel company.
The partnership combines FCMB’s consumer finance capabilities with 247 Travels’ travel booking services to provide a flexible payment alternative at a time when instalment-based financing is becoming increasingly popular among travellers.
FCMB said the product is designed to make international travel more financially accessible while encouraging responsible borrowing and better personal financial management. The bank also noted that the initiative aligns with its strategy of delivering customer-focused financial solutions through strategic partnerships.
247 Travels said the financing arrangement responds to growing demand from customers who prefer spreading travel expenses over several months instead of making a single upfront payment. The company believes the programme will help more Nigerians secure international travel plans without immediate full payment.
FCMB also stated that the travel loan complements its expanding portfolio of lifestyle banking products, which are intended to integrate financial services with customers’ everyday needs and long-term aspirations.
The launch extends the availability of the Book Now, Fly Later model to international air travel, giving Nigerians another financing option for overseas trips while supporting greater flexibility in travel planning and budgeting.
