Airtel Nigeria has secured a 10-year renewal of its spectrum licence from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), strengthening the telecommunications company’s ability to expand broadband coverage, improve network capacity and continue delivering mobile voice and data services across the country.
The renewed authorisation allows Airtel to continue using critical radio frequency spectrum required to operate its mobile network, providing regulatory certainty for long-term investments in digital infrastructure as demand for high-speed internet and mobile connectivity continues to rise in Nigeria.
According to Brandspur Brand News, the licence renewal reinforces Airtel Nigeria’s long-term growth strategy and supports ongoing investments aimed at extending broadband access to underserved communities while enhancing service quality for existing customers.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Dinesh Balsingh, said the approval reflects the company’s confidence in Nigeria’s digital economy and provides the foundation for continued investment in network expansion and connectivity.
