P+ Measurement Launches Africa Reputation Pulse To Track Institutional Reputation

P+ Measurement has launched the Africa Reputation Pulse (ARP), a continental reputation intelligence platform designed to help African institutions measure how they are perceived, trusted and represented across traditional media, digital platforms and generative artificial intelligence environments.

The platform is being introduced in partnership with Brand Communicator, Comms Avenue and Comms Africa, bringing together communications platforms to develop a shared approach to reputation intelligence focused on African institutions.

Brandspur Brand News reports that ARP combines reputation intelligence, institutional auditing, media intelligence, narrative analysis, peer benchmarking, risk intelligence and AI/GEO visibility in one platform, giving institutions a broader view of the factors shaping their public reputation.

The platform has been developed around the idea that reputation can influence how institutions engage stakeholders and build credibility. Its open access offering currently provides reputation dossiers for public institutions, with new audits expected to be added as research continues.

ARP launches with eight dossiers covering public institutions, faith based institutions and the African ride hailing sector. The organisers said the research will continue to expand across the continent.

Philip Odiakose, Lead Analyst at ARP, said the platform was created to make reputation intelligence more accessible and evidence based, particularly as African institutions seek to understand how they are perceived locally and internationally.

A key feature of the platform is its approach to information generated by AI systems. ARP uses artificial intelligence to support query processing and information retrieval, while evidence, citations, historical records and analytical findings undergo human review and evidence controls.

Where supporting evidence cannot be established, the platform is designed to identify that gap rather than generate an unsupported response. This approach is intended to address the risk of inaccurate or fabricated information in AI assisted research.

The platform’s measurement methodology draws on professional resources from the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication, including the Barcelona Principles 4.0, Integrated Evaluation Framework and GEO resources.

Mildred Kaunda, Strategic Advisor at ARP, said reputation intelligence should form part of an institution’s broader infrastructure rather than being treated only as an occasional communications activity.

P+ Measurement Services provides the research, measurement, review and analytical functions behind the platform, drawing on its work in reputation, media intelligence, measurement and auditing.

Public institutions can request full reputation dossiers without charge, while corporate and financial sector research will be offered on a paid basis. The commercial research model is intended to help support the continued provision of public sector intelligence at no cost.

ARP also accepts research donations to support continuous auditing and evidence generation across African institutions, as its organisers seek to establish a long term reputation intelligence resource for the continent.
