Docu2Data Limited has won the EDGE Outstanding Young Transit Advertising Platform of the Year award after building a digital advertising network across Lagos buses and rail transport, reaching more than 1.5 million commuters monthly, according to figures provided by the company.
The Lagos-based marketing technology firm received the award at the 14th MARKETING EDGE EDGE AWARDS 2026, held on 25 September at Ten Degrees Event Hall, Oregun, Lagos. The recognition comes less than a year after the company publicly launched its digital in-bus screen network, highlighting the growing role of transit advertising in Nigeria’s out-of-home media market.
Docu2Data’s network includes digital screens installed in Lagos Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses and on the Blue Line Train. Brandspur Brand News reports that the platform is designed to help advertisers reach passengers during their daily journeys, with repeated exposure to campaigns across public transport routes.
The company introduced its Smart In-Bus Screen Solution in October 2025, deploying 150 screens across 38 BRT routes in partnership with the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA). The initiative was developed to turn public transport into a channel for brand communication while also supporting the delivery of information to commuters.
At the launch, LAMATA highlighted the importance of working with Nigerian technology companies capable of developing solutions suited to local needs. The partnership placed Docu2Data within Lagos State’s wider effort to support homegrown technology in public transport services.
Founded by Bolaji Akinfolarin, the company aims to give advertisers more than screen space. Its platform provides proof-of-play records, audience insights and campaign performance reports, allowing clients to track where and how their advertisements are displayed.
Advertisers can choose packages covering 50, 100 or 150 screens, submit their video adverts and leave the company to handle formatting, scheduling and placement. Other services include on-ground activations and advertising wraps on buses and trains.
The business is also planning a self-service dashboard with real-time analytics and further expansion across Lagos BRT routes. These additions are intended to give advertisers greater control over campaigns and clearer information about their delivery.
Docu2Data has set itself the longer-term goal of building Nigeria’s largest transit digital signage network, with an ambition to deliver up to ten times more value on advertising expenditure. The target remains a stated company objective rather than an independently established result.
The award adds industry recognition to the company’s early expansion and places renewed attention on digital advertising within public transport. For brands competing for consumer attention across an increasingly crowded media environment, transit screens offer access to commuters as they travel through the city.
Docu2Data’s next challenge will be to expand its network and demonstrate that its audience data and campaign reporting can deliver consistent value for advertisers.
