LCCI gets ISO Certification, the first in West Africa

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is now the first chamber of commerce in West Africa and second in Sub-Saharan Africa to be ISO certified. The ISO 9001:2015 is a certification by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an international agency consisting of the national standards bodies of over 160 countries.

Mrs. Toki Mabogunje, the Chamber President who spoke at the official presentation of the certificate made known that LCCI is the first Chamber of Commerce in West Africa and the second in Sub-Saharan Africa to be ISO Certified.

The accreditation demonstrates LCCI’s ability to ensure products and services meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Founded in 1888, LCCI is the premier Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria and the foremost private sector group with over 2,000 corporate members.

It accounts for an estimated 60% of industrial output, 65% of general commerce and 75% of financial services in the country.

According to Mabogunje, the journey in the quest for the ISO 9001:2015 certification began in September 2018, under the leadership of the then President, Mr. Babatunde Ruwase (FCA), who approved its commencement.

“The process was facilitated and coordinated by our Human Resource Manager and our Consultants, Top Three Concept.”
