The highlight of the event was the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones, both powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with a 3nm processor, delivering high-performance processing and advanced on-device AI capabilities. It features a 6.3-inch display with 1.18mm thin bezels, an M10 SuperRED panel that reaches 3,500 nits peak brightness, and a 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 22.5W reverse wireless charging. Photography is powered by a Leica-branded triple 50MP camera system, including a Light Fusion 950 main sensor, 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 2.6x optical zoom. Pricing starts at €999 for the 256GB variant and €1,099 for 512GB, with Nigeria expected prices between ₦1,250,000 and ₦1,450,000.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra targets professional photographers and content creators, boasting a 6.9-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display, up to 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, and a Leica-engineered triple camera setup. Its standout feature is a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with continuous optical zoom from 75mm to 100mm and macro photography capability. The 17 Ultra carries a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, priced at €1,499 for 512GB and €1,699 for 1TB, with Nigerian prices estimated between ₦2,200,000 and ₦2,650,000.
Beyond smartphones, Xiaomi introduced ecosystem products including the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro and Pad 8 tablets, Xiaomi Watch 5, Electric Scooter 6 Ultra, Xiaomi Tag Bluetooth tracker, Redmi Buds 8 Pro, and UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000. Prices in Nigeria are expected to range from ₦20,000 for the Xiaomi Tag to over ₦900,000 for the Pad 8 Pro, with launches scheduled between March and Q2 2026.
Software upgrades were also highlighted, with HyperOS 3.0 debuting as Xiaomi’s next-generation operating system. Built on Android 16, it features HyperCore for performance, HyperConnect for connectivity, and HyperAI for on-device intelligence. Key features include AI-powered note writing, fraud detection, gallery AI search, real-time voice translation, and improved interoperability with Apple devices for cross-device unlocking and universal AI-powered search.
