The Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), the umbrella body for advertisers in the country, has extended some measure of palliatives to three distinct groups to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on them.

Although individual members of the body might have given palliatives in one form or the other or through the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID), the body still thought it fit to reach out to its specific partners such as the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN), the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the petty traders doing business in Opebi environ where ADVAN office is domiciled.

To do this, according to the Executive Secretary, ADVAN  identified two immediate communities –  the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and Brand Journalist Association of Nigeria (BJAN) to support them with products from our members and also plan to help them in the area of training and capacity development; and enlightenment especially during this coronavirus pandemic.

The training and enlightenment support becomes necessary because people will need new knowledge and skills as much as they can find, adapt to the new realities in our places of work and life in general, added the ADVAN treasurer.

Apart from these two Associations, bags of palliative products were handed out to female petty traders resident in the Opebi community who attended the brief session.

The products for the palliative were provided by members including the Tolaram group, Unilever, FrieslandCampina Wamco, Stanbic IBTC and Nestle among others.
