Egoras, Reveals Plan To Champion Its Brand Of Locally Made Rice

To combat rising food prices, Nigerian company, Egoras has revealed intentions to introduce its brand of locally made Ella Parboiled Rice. A statement released on Wednesday claims that the project’s launch, which is scheduled to start on October 12, is intended to have a social impact similar to that of a charitable donation.

According to Egoras’ CEO, Ugoji Harry, Nigerians will get some relief from the effects of food inflation because of a significant price decrease of 45,000 for a 50kg bag.

Harry underlined how difficult it is becoming for many Nigerians to afford staple foods. He stated: “The current economic situation has pushed many families into extreme financial strain.

“We understand that food is becoming unaffordable for many households, and as a company, we feel a responsibility to support our communities. This rice, which is locally produced, would ordinarily sell for almost double the price, but we are offering it at N45,000 to make it accessible,” he added.

The cost of staple foods like rice has surged in recent months, making it harder for the typical Nigerian household to satisfy their daily nutritional needs. Due to the cost of staple items rising sharply as a result of inflation, which is currently above 30%, many Nigerians are becoming even more impoverished.

The introduction of Ella Parboiled Rice coincides with a critical moment for those who cannot afford basic food essentials, since food prices are at all-time highs, BrandSpur national news brand reports.

He made it clear that wholesalers and resellers are not the intended use for the cheap rice. He went on to say: “To prevent exploitation, we have set a limit of one bag per customer.

“We want to ensure that as many households as possible benefit from this initiative, and we don’t want people buying in bulk just to resell it at a profit. This is a way of giving back, and we’re trying to reach everyday Nigerians who need this the most,” he added.

Apart from offering reasonably priced rice, the company has made sure that it is distributed conveniently, with pickup locations available in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. To guarantee their bags of rice, which will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, customers may place preorders at egomart.org.

The CEO was aware of the financial difficulties but continued to believe that the effort would have a favourable outcome.

Continuing, he said: “We believe that this effort, while small, will provide some relief to those most in need. Every bag of rice sold at this price is helping a family get through these tough times.”

Egoras’ effort tries to fight concerns of food hunger and economic instability in Nigeria.  Initiatives like this will help to progressively close the gap between supply and affordability as the nation continues to struggle with the effects of inflation and rising food costs, providing some respite during a trying period.
