The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has formalised a broadcast partnership with the Nigerian Television Authority ahead of the World Public Relations Forum 2026, securing the national broadcaster as the event’s official television host.
The agreement was sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding signed at the NTA headquarters in Abuja, as preparations intensify for the global public relations gathering scheduled to hold in November. The deal was executed by NIPR President, Ike Neliaku, and the Director-General of the NTA, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, representing their respective organisations.
Brandspur Brand News reports that the partnership positions the NTA to deliver full television coverage of the World PR Forum 2026, ensuring that key discussions, keynote sessions and strategic engagements from the event are broadcast to audiences within Nigeria and internationally.
Organisers have projected that the forum will draw more than 3,000 delegates from approximately 126 countries, placing it among the largest international communication and public relations events ever hosted in Nigeria. The gathering is expected to convene global PR leaders, policymakers, academics and industry practitioners to deliberate on emerging trends shaping strategic communication worldwide.
With the NTA’s extensive terrestrial and satellite broadcast reach, organisers say the collaboration will significantly amplify the forum’s global visibility, allowing insights and outcomes from the event to reach millions of viewers across Africa and beyond.
The World PR Forum is regarded as a flagship event within the global public relations calendar, and Nigeria’s hosting of the 2026 edition is seen as a major milestone for the country’s communications industry. Stakeholders believe the broadcast partnership underscores Nigeria’s growing relevance in global PR discourse and strengthens the country’s capacity to host large-scale international professional events.
The NIPR said the collaboration with the NTA forms part of broader efforts to ensure effective documentation, dissemination and impact of the forum’s conversations, while reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a hub for strategic communication, reputation management and public relations leadership on the global stage.
