Indomie Supports Autism Awareness Campaign As Teen Cyclist Kanyeyachukwu Sets Guinness World Record In Nigeria

Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, has backed a nationwide autism advocacy campaign led by 16-year-old cyclist Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, who recently achieved a Guinness World Record for completing a 100-mile ride.

The teenager, who is autistic, undertook a long-distance cycling journey from Enugu to Lagos as part of the “Ride With Kanye” initiative aimed at raising awareness about autism and promoting inclusive communities. His feat has drawn national attention and sparked conversations around child development and acceptance.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the Lagos State Government hosted a reception in honour of the young advocate at Lagos House, Marina, where Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended his resilience and described the achievement as a powerful example of youth potential when supported by society.

During the event, the state government announced a N200 million support package for autism advocacy, with funds allocated to the Kanyeyachukwu Foundation and other organisations working in partnership with the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs.

Representatives of Indomie highlighted the importance of corporate support in driving social impact, noting that the brand’s involvement aligns with its commitment to youth empowerment, community development, and inclusive growth.

Kanyeyachukwu, who is also a recognised visual artist, has previously earned global acclaim for setting a separate Guinness World Record, reinforcing his growing influence as a young advocate using creativity and endurance to inspire change.

The campaign’s success underscores increasing collaboration between government, private sector stakeholders, and advocacy groups in advancing autism awareness and building a more inclusive society in Nigeria.
